Body Cleanse Detox For Healthy Living

A body cleanse requires the elimination of all red meat, dairy, and processed foods from the diet. The cleanse starts with a one to two day fast, where one consumes only water and fruit juices. After the fast, one may eat only raw fruits and vegetables. This process is meant to help the body purge itself of toxins.

Many people ask, “Why cleanse?” The body already works to purge itself of harmful compounds by using its own vital organs. The liver breaks down toxins, then they are eliminated through the kidneys, skin, colon and lungs. However, in today’s world, there are so many additional toxic substances in the environment and in foods. The human body may not be able to keep up with ridding itself of these harmful compounds. This is where body cleansing comes in. This process helps the human get rid of these bad substances, which can cause a plethora of health problems. These include increased stress levels, chronic headaches, chronic fatigue syndrome and overall lack of energy and depression.

There are things you can do to make the most of this process. Before beginning the cleanse, taper off consumption of animal products, caffeine and alcohol, as opposed to stopping these things abruptly. Suddenly discontinuing eating these items may cause adverse side effects such as headaches, dizziness and nausea. Replace the decreased consumption of these things with more water and a diet of healthy fruits, vegetables and whole grains. If you taper consumption of these foods and liquids, you are more likely to successfully complete a body cleanse.

Give your body a break by consuming only water and fruit juices for a couple of days. This allows your system to rest, since ingestion of toxic chemicals goes way down. You can more easily prepare yourself to get rid of the existing harmful substances your system is harboring.

In addition to fasting and drinking only liquids, either a cleanse diet and/or cleansing products should be used. Diets address the functions of multiple organs in the body. Cleansing products usually target a specific organ in the body, for example, the colon.

When shopping for a cleansing product, look for all-natural ingredients. Many contain artificial ingredients and/or stimulants. These obviously add to already toxic levels, rather than help to reduce or eliminate these harmful levels. Make sure the program promotes fat and Weight Loss, as many toxins are stored in fat. A total cleanse is most effective, as it reduces fat and promotes Weight Loss. These are two key factors in ridding oneself of harmful chemicals.

A cleanse should last no longer than ten days. Do not cleanse for an extended period. This can detrimentally affect an individual. The entire body loses protein, and muscles can atrophy. In addition, anemia, low blood sugar and irregular heartbeat can develop.

When done over a moderate period of time, a body cleanse leads to increased well-being. Regardless of whether a person’s regular organs (kidney, liver, colon) are already equipped to get rid of toxins, a full body cleanse does leave one with more energy and an increased sense of well-being. This leads to a healthier lifestyle, which by itself decreases the toxicity levels in one’s body.
